Founded and directed by Mike Patrovich, the Barn Brothers program is built on more than 30 years of proven success at every level of the sport. Originated with Joe Patrovich Sr, the Patrovich Family Model has consistently produced standout wrestlers — athletes who not only succeed locally, but rise to State, National, and international competitions.
Barn Brothers was created for the wrestler who is truly committed to the craft. Our athletes dream big: State titles, National Championships, and one day representing the United States on the world stage. We provide the system, the discipline, and the environment that turns those dreams into measurable, meaningful progress.
Training at Barn Brothers includes:
• Relentless, structured drilling
• High-level technique progression
• Repetitive skill reinforcement
• Integrated strength & conditioning (including cross-fit-style sessions)
• Year-round programming for youth, high school, and elite wrestlers
Every athlete who walks into the Barn is expected to work with intention, develop with purpose, and rise to the standards of a room built on toughness, consistency, and brotherhood.
Barn Brothers Wrestling is where commitment becomes culture, and culture creates champions.

Head Coach & Founder
As one of the most decorated wrestlers in Long Island history, Mike Patrovich was a High School State and National Champion at Islip High School prior to a remarkable career at Hofstra University where he was a 2x All American and eventually an Assistant Coach.
A three-time Suffolk County champion, three-time New York State placewinner, and the 2001 NYS Champion at 152 lbs, Mike also earned the prestigious Dellicave Award as Suffolk County’s top student-athlete. His dominance carried seamlessly into Division I competition at Hofstra, where he amassed a career record of 106–30, captured three CAA conference titles, and earned NCAA All-American honors in both 2006 (4th at 174 lbs) and 2007 (6th at 165 lbs).
After concluding his collegiate run, Mike returned to Hofstra as an Assistant Coach, helping develop multiple conference champions and NCAA qualifiers. His transition from athlete to coach showcased the same sharp technical mind, competitive discipline, and leadership qualities that defined his wrestling career.
As Founder of Barn Brothers Wrestling, Mike plays a crucial role for Long Island Wrestling, Barn Brothers, and the sport at large through orchestrating the development of student-athletes on the local, regional, and national level. His coaching philosophy centers on discipline, relentless fundamentals, and building wrestlers who understand both the physical and mental demands of high-level competition.
Since launching Barn Brothers in 2007, Mike has built the program into one of Long Island’s premier wrestling hubs — known for producing tough, technically sound competitors who excel in scholastic, club, and college environments. His impact is felt in every room he leads: structured practices, clear expectations, and a culture of excellence rooted in decades of proven success.
With a résumé that spans state titles, NCAA podiums, Division I coaching, and the creation of one of Long Island’s most respected wrestling clubs, Mike Patrovich continues to shape the next generation of wrestlers with the same intensity and purpose that defined his own legendary career.

Cory Dolson is one of Long Island’s most accomplished wrestling coaches and a cornerstone of the Barn Brothers training staff. A Rocky Point native and former SUNY Cortland wrestler, Cory has spent more than two decades shaping the landscape of Suffolk County wrestling — developing championship programs, producing state-level athletes, and elevating every room he steps into.
Before joining Barn Brothers, Cory built Mattituck/Greenport/Southold into one of New York’s premier small-school powerhouses, leading the Tuckers to multiple Suffolk Division II titles, a state dual championship run, and more than 160 career dual-meet victories. Under his leadership, Mattituck produced New York State champions, All-State wrestlers, and college-bound athletes, earning him repeated Coach of the Year recognition across Long Island.
Cory now coaches at Shoreham-Wading River while serving as the head assistant at Barn Brothers, where he brings a sharp technical approach rooted in pace, precision, and relentless position work. His athletes are known for disciplined mat strategy, high-percentage attacks, and mental toughness — trademarks of Cory’s coaching style.
